Chickpea Pesto

You say Chickpea Pesto, we say Pesto Hommus. Either way, this recipe pairs well with everything from pasta to pita chips!

  • 2 tablespoons Cedar’s Organic Garlic Hommus
  • 2 tablespoons nutritional yeast
  • 2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
  • 1 raw garlic clove
  • ½ cup of roasted walnuts
  • juice from ½ lemon
  • 2 cups of basil leaves
  • pink salt and pepper to taste
Serves 3-4 Total Under 15 Minutes


  1. Roast the walnuts at 400 degrees for about 2-3 minutes. Be careful not to burn them! Set in the freezer to cool down.
  2. Juice ½ lemon and throw all of the ingredients in your food processor (or blender) and blend. You can blend till smooth, or leave a little chunky.
  3. Spread over your favorite pasta or quinoa or simply serve as you would any other dip.
