Salsa Burgers

Total 30-60 Minutes
INGREDIENTS
½ cup Cedar’s Medium Salsa
1 ½ pounds lean (at least 80%) ground beef
¼ cup plain breadcrumbs
¾ cup hot pepper jack cheese, shredded
6 burger buns, split and toasted
6 tomato slices
6 avocado slices
6 red onion slices
6 pieces of lettuce
DIRECTIONS
Heat grill. In a medium bowl, mix beef, salsa and breadcrumbs.
Shape mixture into 12 4-inch patties, ¼-inch thick. Sprinkle 1 tablespoon of cheese in the center of 6 patties, spreading slightly.
Top with remaining patties; press edges together firmly to seal.
Place patties on grill over medium heat. Cover grill. Cook 11-13 minutes, turning once, until meat thermometer inserted in center of the patties reads 160 °F.
Place burgers on bottom halves of buns. Top each with a slice of tomato, avocado, red onion and a piece of lettuce. If desired, top with additional salsa. Cover with top halves of buns.
