Wild Mushroom Tart

Bursting with autumnal flavors, you could say this warming appetizer, side or dinner dish is a savory tart with a whole lotta heart.


  • Sheet of puff pastry

  • 12 oz fresh mushrooms, sliced
  • 2 tablespoons butter

  • 1 tablespoon olive oil

  • Salt

  • Pepper

  • Fresh thyme

  • 1/2 cup smoked Gouda, grated 

  • 1 cup Cedar's Balsamic Caramelized Onion Hommus
Serves 4-6 Total 30-60 Minutes


  1. Sauté mushrooms in butter and olive oil. Add salt, pepper and thyme.

  2. Roll out puff pastry dough onto a parchment lined baking sheet. Using a fork, prick the dough in the center of the tart, which is where the filling will be.

  3. Spread the center of the dough with Cedar's Balsamic Caramelized Onion Hommus and cover with sautéed mushrooms.

  4. Roll up the sides of the dough and cover with Gouda. Bake at 400 F for 25 minutes.
