Savory Falafel Waffles

Spare the maple syrup and spread hommus. These savory falafel waffles are the epitome of surprise and delight.


  • 1 can chickpeas
  • 1 large onion, diced
  • 4 cloves of garlic
  • ½ cup fresh parsley
  • ½ cup fresh cilantro
  • ¼ teaspoon chili powder
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • ½ cup flour
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • cooking oil spray
  • Cedar’s Organic Roasted Red Pepper Hommus with Toppings
Serves 4 Total 30-60 Minutes


  1. Pulse all ingredients, except for the hommus, in a food processor until they are coarsely blended, careful not to purée.
  2. Refrigerate batter for an hour.
  3. Preheat waffle iron and spray with cooking spray.
  4. Scoop batter into waffle iron and cook until crispy.
  5. Serve hot with Cedar’s Organic Roasted Red Pepper Hommus with Toppings.
