Heirloom Tomato Pie

There’s nothing more satisfying than a hearty harvest pie filled with the savory and sweet flavors of Cedar’s Balsamic Caramelized Onion Hommus, cheeses and farm fresh heirloom tomatoes.

INGREDIENTS

1 prepared pie dough
1 cup Gruyere cheese
½ cup Parmesan cheese
½ cup mayonnaise
½ cup Cedar’s Balsamic Caramelized Onion Hommus
1 egg
3 heirloom tomatoes
Fresh thyme
Salt and pepper
Serves 4 Total 30-60 Minutes

DIRECTIONS

Roll out a prepared pie dough into a pie dish. Pinch the edges between your fingers for a decorative crimped edge. Parbake the pie crust with dried beans for 10 minutes at 375 degrees. Meanwhile, make the filling. Mix Gruyere and Parmesan cheeses, mayonnaise, Cedar's Balsamic Caramelized Onion Hommus, and egg together and pour into a pre baked pie shell. Cut tomatoes into slices and dry with a paper towel. Top with slices of heirloom tomatoes. Season with salt and pepper. Bake for 30 minutes at 350 degrees. Garnish with fresh thyme leaves.
