Chicken Gyro Sliders

For lunch, dinner or the backyard barbecue, if you slice, dice, mix and fry these fresh, flavorful sliders up, everyone wins, every time. 

INGREDIENTS

  • 1 12-oz container of Cedar’s Cucumber Garlic Tzatziki
  • 1 pound lean ground chicken
  • 2 garlic gloves, minced
  • 1 teaspoon lemon zest
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • ¼ teaspoon cumin
  • ¼ teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 package of mini pitas, sliced 
  • 1 tomato, sliced
  • 1 cucumber, sliced
  • ½ of a red onion, sliced 
  • Salt and pepper
Serves 4 Total 15-29 Minutes

DIRECTIONS

  1. Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat.
  2. Combine ground chicken, garlic, lemon zest and spices in a large bowl, then divide mixture into quarters and divide each quarter in half for eight sections.
  3. Spray skillet with nonstick spray, then form each section into a patty one at a time and add to hot skillet.
  4. Cook for 3-4 minutes on each side, or until cooked all the way through, spraying uncooked side with nonstick spray before flipping.
  5. Remove from skillet and let sit for 5 minutes, then stack on sliced mini pitas and top with tomato, cucumber, red onion and Cedar’s Cucumber Garlic Tzatziki.
  6. Add salt and pepper.
